Cancer Systems Biology Laboratory (CanSyL), is a research facility for cancer studies and cancer bioinformatics at systems level.

Recent WHO-IARC data reports that cancer is the major cause of morbidity and mortality world wide (GLOBOCAN-2014). Cancer is a complex disease, defined by uncontrolled proliferation and spreading of abnormal cells. As a result, cancer tissue includes cell groups with different molecular characteristics, which contributes to tumor and patient heterogeneity. Systems biology approaches target complexity of cancer cells using experimental and computational methods by integrating and applying interdisciplinary methods. Therefore, we aim to gain systems view of cancer biology and to develop computational tools that would be used for this deadly disease. Thus, it will be possible to produce cancer patient specific solutions for risk prediction, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up purposes.
